SARLAHI, JULY 6
Police have arrested a prison escapee who fled the Central Jail in Kathmandu during the Gen-Z protests in September last year.
The arrested has been identified as 26-year-old Ramlal "Raman" Yonjan
of Hariban Municipality-1, Sarlahi.
According to the District Police Office, Sarlahi,
Yonjan had been serving a prison sentence after being
convicted in a robbery case before escaping from
Jagannath Deval Central Jail during the unrest on Bhadra 23 and 24.

Acting on a special tip-off, a team from the Area
Police Office, Hariban, apprehended Yonjan while he
was reportedly hiding in his home village,
said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bed Prasad Gautam,
the district police spokesperson.

Police said Yonjan has been sent to Malangwa Prison
